Prospective Phase II study of a high-dose, short course regimen (R-CODOX-M/IVAC) including CNS penetration and intensive IT prophylaxis in HIV-associated Burkitt's lymphoma and atypical Burkitt's lymphoma (AMC 048)

This study is designed to treat HIV-infected patients with Burkitt's lymphoma or atypical Burkitt's with a modified version of the R-CODOX-M/IVAC regimen which is standard treatment for people with Burkitt's and atypical Burkitt's lymphoma. Study duration will be one year.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Men and women 18 years or older
  • Documented HIV infection
  • Laboratory tests within acceptable ranges for study inclusion.

Exclusion criteria:

  • Any lymphoma other than Burkitt's or atypical Burkitt's lymphoma
  • Known pregnancy or breast feeding
  • Medical illness unrelated to lymphoma that may prevent the administration of chemotherapy safely
  • History of any other malignancy ithing the past 5 years other than basal or squamous cell carcinoma and carcinoma in situ of the cervix or cutaneous Kaposi's sarcoma
